Fiji Airways to fly Adelaide – Nadi in 2017
Fiji Airways is to start flying Adelaide to Nadia in 2017. Although they are not a oneworld alliance member they are a partner of QANTAS, and you can redeem your QANTAS points on Fiji Airways by booking via QANTAS.
Fiji Airways will be offering the Adelaide – Nadi service from 30th June 2017. The service will run twice a week on Monday and Friday. The flight FJ960 will depart Adelaide on a Monday at 10pm and land in Nadi ( Fiji) at 5.35 am the following morning. The return flight is the FJ961 leaving NADI at 4.30pm and landing in Adelaide at 8.30am.
Fiji Airways coming into Adelaide with these two flights opens up a few extra doors to the South Australian traveller with Fiji Airways using Nadi as its hub to ongoing flights to the USA. Also it will make it a lot easier for traveller’s going from Adelaide directly to Fiji rather then going through the Eastern States and paying extra for flights and lost time in transit.
QANTAS Frequent Flyer members can earn both points and status credits when travelling on Fiji Airways flights with an FJ flight number. As mentioned earlier you will also be able to redeem your QANTAS points on Fiji Airways.
I just hope that Fiji Airways tweaks their schedule from the departing flights from Adelaide as most of the flights connecting to the US will require a lengthy layover in Nadi. Also the nearly 6 hour flight from Adelaide to Nadi does not have lay flat business class seats which may deter some business class travellers.
All in All I am happy that Fiji Airways has decided to join the growing number of airlines servicing the South Australian population, and look forward to use this service!
