How to Use Google Flights Search Tool and Save
Chances are you are not familiar with this product from Google, called Google Flights. This Travel search engine does everything you want it to do and even more. it will locate flights based on your ideal outbound time, inbound time and number of stops.
Google flights works best when you are looking for a multi city or when traveling overseas. Just be sure that you change the prices from US to AUD. I have been caught out on this a few times by not changing it. You can change it very easily, screenshot attached.
What Google does it basically collects all the prices from hundreds of providers and displays it all to you, and will beat any human travel agent hands down.
there is a couple of things you can make it do, one is setting up price alerts for a particular route you want. Like i have done for a flight from Adelaide to Sydney ( see below) , it will email you and notify you once prices are either going up or going down.
Best Deals-Search Result
Once you enter your destination and date, you will be presented with a search results. The best flights” box tells you which flights are the best combinations of price and travel time. Google also highlights its top pick in green. It’s like having your very own travel agent say, Basically telling you, pick this flight 🙂
Show’s you the lowest price for any given day on the calendar
Google Flights will also show you the lowest price for any given day on the calendar, just be a bit patient as it does take a bit of time to load up all the pricing on the calendar. It will also advise you ie. if you leave on Monday instead of Sunday you will save $$$. So watch out the for the messages you will get from this great tool.
Once you have chosen your dates, you obviously need to select the Airline you will fly with it will ask you to choose the outbound flight and then the return flight. Once you have done all off that you will be given a similar screen like the one below.
You simply need to make a choice if you will book with the Airline directly or use an online travel agent ie Expedia. This tool is great and is a tool that i use for all my flight searches (when not booking with Frequent Flyer miles). This tool is also great for multi city travel.
When you look for your next flight be travel and money smart and use this great tool from Google.
